THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO SINGING (eBook)

“Singing is good for you. The neuroscience of singing shows that when we sing our neurotransmitters connect in new and different ways releasing endorphins that make us smarter, healthier, happier and more creative. When we sing with other people this effect is amplified.”

INTRODUCTION

The aim of “The Complete Guide to Singing” is to give singers a foundation from which to base and develop their singing technique. It can be applied to any and all styles of singing as the fundamental rules of voice production do not change according to the type of music sung.

Section 1 of this book talks about how to sing.

Section 2 focuses on various topics related to stage performance, and the music industry in general.

Years of teaching hundreds and hundreds of students and performing for most of my life I have proven that this singing technique works for all who are prepared to do the work.

Your voice is guaranteed to grow in strength and beauty and give you the vocal stamina needed to last a lifetime.

Most of this booklet is very condensed and I have tried to use as simple language as possible to make reading and understanding easier. There are headings for easy reference followed by a more detailed explanation. You do not have to go through page after page to find the facts or to find a topic you are interested in.

I have not included any vocal scales as these are freely available on line. Use them to apply the technique outlined in this book.

In your practise always aim for quality of sound, the quantity or power will come as the voice grows. Therefore, to begin with be satisfied with producing the tone correctly no matter how small so as to give yourself a foundation from which your voice can grow. Just like lifting weights, you don’t try to lift 200kg on your first visit to the gym, you first get the technique right, then gradually increase the weight.

For the best results I recommend that you find a singing teacher who supports this technique and who can help you to implement what is being said here.

Best of luck!
